Our Management

"If you plan for one year – Plant Rice
If you plan for ten years – Plant trees
If your plan is for a hundred years – Educate children"

Since its inception 18 years ago Springfields has sought to attain its aim of providing a complete education academically, culturally & holistically. We continue to examine ourselves and through hard work we make progress to discover what makes the school function most effectively and what we need to do to become a truly outstanding educational institution for this time & age. Our goal is not to be the best school for this year or that, but to be the best possible school for now & for the years to come.
Our objective at Springfields is to be diverse in all respects. We want our students to be those boys & girls who can successfully engage the academic curriculum & who will be good citizens of our community.

In order to optimize our chances of finding strong students & good citizens we must be able to provide a platform for our children to think & interact on a vast range of interests & perspectives. To be sure that all children are included, that issues of dominant and subordinate are minimized, that safety and respect are afforded to every student at Springfields

To Remember that "Education is about helping children who are capable of self reflection & self organization, and of enjoying a life where they explore their abundant potential." (Caine & Caine)

M.S. Sawhney
"School should be about providing a sense of hope for all ……..
Not achievement for the few ………………"

A legendary teacher once defined the purpose of education in these words:

A legendary teacher once defined the purpose of education in these words: 'You are not engaged so much in acquiring knowledge as in making mental efforts under criticism. A certain amount of knowledge, you can indeed with average facilities acquire so as to retain; nor need you regret the hours you have spent on much that is forgotten, for the shadow of lost knowledge at least protects you from many illusions. But you go to a school …
.. for the habit of attention, for the art of expression, for the art of assuming at a moment's notice a new intellectual posture. For the art of entering quickly into another person's thoughts, for the habit of submitting to censure and refutation, for the art of indicating assent or dissent in graduated terms, for the habit of regarding minute points of accuracy, for the habit of working out what is possible in a given time, for taste, for discrimination, for mental courage and mental soberness. Above all, you go to a school for self knowledge.

At Springfields Public School we aim to help each student develop a "view" of himself or herself which is accurate, positive and enthusiastic about the opportunities which adult life will bring. We start by helping students understand who they are (character development) and how they learn (strong academic foundation) in the lower classes. They learn to learn and play together as they accept the school's cardinal principles of fortitude, justice, temperance and prudence.
We continue through the Middle school by teaching a desire to explore new and different subjects, ideas, perspectives, and experiences. We conclude in the High School by empowering our students with leadership roles in daily school academic and extracurricular life. This culminates in extraordinary student activities, athletics and academic initiatives.

The consistent theme in all the years is self-discovery and growth. "It is today that we create the world of the future" (Eleanor Roosevelt)

"Schools should be a mirror of a future society"

At Springfields we aim to open the minds of our children by offering them a stimulating and inspirational environment in which to learn and grow. We nurture them and guide them as they embark on their journey, enabling them to face each adventure and challenge with confidence. We instill a desire for knowledge, a respect for each other and the world around them and the motivation to succeed in all they do. We encourage independence and leadership and teach the respect of all religious faiths.

We strongly feel that education should be a partnership between caring parents and a caring school - working to the same end and helping each child grow into a well-educated person.
The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. It equips a pupil with the means to find the answers for himself and within himself.

" Do not go where the path may lead
Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail"
