Basant Panchmi is a Hindu Spring festival observed on the 5th day of Magha month, which falls between January and February. On this day Goddess Saraswati is worshipped, the symbol of art, music and learning.

Kites are flown on this day by children and adults, they compete to fly it highest and some compete to cut each other. People wear yellow attire and prepare sweets which are yellow and saffron in colour.

To enjoy Basant Panchmi an activity was conducted where children made beautiful kites using old newspapers, magazines, colourful sheets etc. They flew these kites in the open ground with their friends and enjoyed the day. Children enthusiastically participated in this activity and enjoyed making and flying kites.
