Baisakhi Celebration

‘Baisakhi’ also called ‘Vaisakhi’ is usually celebrated on 13th April , and very occasionally on 14th April every year.

The Baisakhi festival is a seasonal festival. It is celebrated all over India especially in Punjab and Haryana by all classes of people. It is celebrated to mark the arrival of the harvest season. On this day people put on new clothes and enjoy a lot. A fair is held and sikhs celebrate this festival in a special manner, they visit Gurudwaras to attend special prayer meetings.

To make children learn more about Indian culture Baisakhi was celebrated from 8th April to 12th April. Children participated in various activities held throughout the week. Drawing sheets related to Baisakhi were given to the students, they coloured the sheets and enjoyed doing the activity.
