MOCK DRILL

A disaster management mock drill was conducted by Springfields Public School on 4 July 2024 for the students of classes 6 to 12 to prepare them for unforeseen emergencies, such as earthquakes, fire accidents and floods. The main objective was to spread awareness, build preparedness, courage and confidence, and enhance the students’ ability to respond quickly.Before the drill, Director Principal of the school Ms. Veena Chopra sensitized all about the emergency exit plan, evacuation routes, and the dos and don’ts that must be followed during any crisis .Teachers were provided with instructions in advance, and the exit plan was re-emphasized to ensure a successful drill.The continuous blown of the hooter was an indication for teachers and students to initiate it. Four passages which are the main staircase, staircase near school office, near O.T gate and staircase near the main stage were used. The students quickly moved towards them and were supervised by vigilant teachers and admin staff.After the drill, a reflection time was conducted, where the students recollected all the steps to keep in mind during natural disasters. They reflected on the objective of the drill and what they had learned.
