Shaheed Udham Singh  Martyrs Day

To commemorate the martyrdom of Sardar Udham Singh,one of the iconic heroes of our country, an inspirational speech was given by Anu Sanjay ma’am in the morning assembly. She apprised the students of his life as well as contribution to  our struggle  for freedom. Born as Sher Singh in Sangrur , he spent his formative years in an orphanage due to untimely death of his father. He idolised Bhagat Singh and decided to avenge the death of his countrymen in the Jallianwala massacre. He went to England and after careful preparation killed General Dyer . He was executed on July 31 ,1940 but not before inspiring the coming generations to be selfless and courageous in the face of tyranny and oppression.

It was truly an amazing and powerful speech by Anu Sanjay ma’am.
