Seminar on POCSO

A seminar on POCSO Act (2012) was conducted on Tuesday, September 24,2024 for the students of classes IX-XII under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority, Yamunanagar.

Mr. Parveen , Advocate cum legal cell member along with Ms Sona Devi were the main resource persons.

They not only made the students aware of POCSO (2012) Act. They advised the students to be vigilant about their surroundings and not to be afraid of  protesting against any kind of harassment. They further cautioned them not to share their phone numbers as well as other personal details especially on social media sites with anyone. Furthermore they advised them not to misuse this Act for frivolous reasons as it will not only harm their future prospects but also weaken the case of other victims. They also informed the students of different types of punishments under different sections of law. It was a very informative seminar aimed for the students’ benefit.
