Republic Day Celebration

To commemorate historic 75 th anniversary of the adoption of Constitution of India and the country’s transition from a sovereign state to a full-fledged republic, a special assembly was held wherein Ms Geetu Saroch gave a speech to highlight the importance of the day. She informed the students about the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar along with other members in drafting the constitution of India. She further advised the students to not only value their freedom but also respect the law of land as well as ensure that the country only progresses in the future. The speech was followed by a soul stirring poem by Chehak of class IV, in which she evoked patriotic sentiments in our hearts. Finally our highly respected Director Principal Veena ma’am addressed the students and told them about the chronology of some important events that culminated in the form of Republic Day to be celebrated on January 26 every year. She informed the students as to how constitution was adopted on November 26,1949 and came into force on January 26 ,1950. She paid rich tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Chairman of the drafting committee as well as lauded the efforts of our freedom fighters for securing our freedom. This event served as a reminder to all of us to uphold the values enshrined in our constitution.
