HARYANA DAY/ NATIONAL UNITY DAY CELEBRATIONS

(31 October 2023)

To mark the two auspicious days of India - Haryana Day and National Unity Day, a special assembly was conducted where Mr Anurag Gautam from Science Department apprised the students about the same. He enlightened the students that every year, Haryana Day is observed on 1 November to commemorate the formation of the state of Haryana which happened in the year 1966. The state of Haryana was carved out of Punjab and formally declared a separate state on 1 November 1966. In the remembrance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his contributions to India's union, Unity Day is observed on 31 October to maintain the country's unity and integrity. We all know Sardar Patel was instrumental in the integration of the princely states into the Indian Union. India's first home minister Vallabhbhai Patel was dubbed “Sardar” (chief) for his leadership skills in leading the country through the struggle for independence and beyond. His birth anniversary is now celebrated as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
