Navratri is a festival in which people joyously worship Goddess Durga. Navratri signifies 'victory of good over evil' and for this very reason, everyone celebrates this festival with a lot of joy and enthusiasm. In a special assembly today, Ms. Nancy enlightened the students about the significance of the festival and how and why it is celebrated. She apprised that Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in honour of goddess Durga, an aspect of Adi Parashakti, the supreme goddess. It spans over nine nights. On the eigth day of Navratri, Goddess Durga triumphed over the demon Mahishasur, to free the land of all evil and help restore dharma.
