Gurpurab Celebrations

The festivities in the Sikh religion revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. These Gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs. Their birthdays, known as Gurpurab, are occasions for celebration and prayer among the Sikhs.

To commemorate the Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Mr. Sandeep Oberoi recited a shabad and Ms. Tanu Chandhok from Commerce Department enlightened the students about the significance of the purab and His preachings.

She also apprised about the beliefs of Guru ji that there is only one God and all human beings are equal. This Gurpurab is a reminder to follow His teachings and overcome the five vices - lust, greed, attachment, anger and pride and devote one's life in the selfless service of God.
